“The Future”

The future often frightens us precisely because of its uncertainty. We do not know who we will be tomorrow, what thoughts we will have, what we will desire, or what circumstances we will have to face. We are afraid of the lack of control, of losing what we have today, and of not being able to cope with what we do not yet know.

But perhaps the future is not something we are meant to control. It is a space in which we continue to discover ourselves, to change, and to remain open to what is new.

The central figure in the painting is my inner child. The child who once looked at the world with wide-open eyes and believed in fairy tales. But now, she is no longer waiting for a fairy tale.

She looks directly and intently at the viewer because she sees more than she did before.

This gaze is not about losing childhood innocence. On the contrary, it is about its transformation. The inner child remains alive, curious, and capable of wonder, but through experience, wisdom begins to grow within her.

The child grows and blossoms. And her life does not have to be perfect. Even flowers have their season of blooming and their season of withering, yet this does not make them any less beautiful. They simply change. Sometimes, it is precisely through transformation that we are able to see a new kind of beauty.

We change too. Sometimes we need to let go of the old, move through loss, and transform our understanding of ourselves and the world in order to make space for something new.

The graphic lines in the painting symbolize the flow of time and a movement that cannot be stopped. We can only move with it, remaining open to whatever comes.

“The Future” is not an attempt to predict what the world will become. It is a reflection on our readiness to meet it as it is.

On the ability to change without betraying ourselves.

On the inner child who continues to look at the world with love, but now sees it more deeply.

And perhaps this is what our future truly is: not knowing what tomorrow will bring, but remaining ready to open ourselves to it.
